Central Bus Station

Good variety of cafes and shops and good toilet facilities (1 shekel required!).  Internet café.  Security is strict (no bad thing).  Can be busy so expect queues to get past security.  Very helpful information desk. Longer trips may be booked from the upstairs booking office.

BUSES

Getting on an Egged bus is a bit of a free for all especially if you are used to a ‘polite queuing system.’  You will be expected to load your own luggage. Popular with the IDF so expect to see lots of young men and women with guns!

LIGHT RAIL

Travel choices will change and increase when the Light Rail is in operation, hopefully around August/September 2011.  It is scheduled to run regularly from Pisgat Ze’ev around the north of the Old City and out to Mt Herzl.

TRAIN

A fast train route between Jerusalem Central to Tel Aviv Central Will be available from April 2018
